Cherie Hainsworth- Powrie is the Principal of the Law Firm HAINSWORTH POWRIE LAW. Cherie specialises in the Criminal Courts undertaking defence work. She deals with a wide range of criminal charges ranging from minor Traffic Charges, including Drink Driving and Limited Licences to serious criminal matters including Drug charges, Assaults, and Burglaries; together with defending Work & Income prosecutions, Fisheries prosecutions and Dog Prosecutions. Cherie's other speciality is Relationship & Matrimonial Property.
Cherie Hainsworth- Powrie is a member of the New Zealand Law Society, Auckland District Law Society, and holds a current practising certificate as a Barrister & Solicitor entitled to practise on her own account. Cherie has successfully completed the New Zealand Law Society Trust Account Partner Training Programme. Cherie is a listed provider with the Legal Services Agency and accepts Legal aid assignments for criminal law matters, family law matters, and civil litigation matters. Cherie is on the Pukekohe District Court (supervisor) and Papakura District Court Duty Solicitor Rosters.
Cherie is the co-ordinator on behalf of the New Zealand Law Society for the Duty Solicitor Training Programme held in Manukau, Auckland; is on the Executive of the Manukau Professional Bar Association; and was formerly on the New Zealand Family Courts Association Committee (1999, 2000, 2001).
